We are HOME!!

We left the hospital this morning and we feel free now! Caden likes his new house I think. He has slept and ate all day. He is so exciting!

Jason picked Haley up from school today and she was so excited to see that we were all home. She wanted to hold him all night and feed him too. We had several episodes b/c she got her feelings hurt or didn't want to do what she was told. This is a huge adjustment for her. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

Tomorrow I get inducted to the Greenfield High School Sports Hall of Fame at the basketball game. Greenfield VS Pendleton.

We finally got Caden all to ourselves!

Caden is out of the oxygen dome and off the monitors. They gave him a bath and he has been in our room ever since. He is doing great! He is such a sweet and good baby.

My pain is increasing as the days are going on...swelling of my legs, pain in my arms and of course across my scar and belly.

Haley got to hold her baby brother today and she was soooo excited.

We had several visitors today despite the snow! Grimes, Bricker Family, Mandy, Adam, and Jen. Then Mamaw Suz and Haley came by.

He is finally here!!! Caden Palmer Matthews

Baby Caden was born at 7:51 am on January 26 via C-section.He is in an oxygen dome right now trying to get oxygen level up. We are still waiting for the doctor to show up and let us know when he gets to come out of it. He was 7 pounds 4 oz and 19 inches long. Dark Blue Eyes, dark hair with a possible tint of red in it!

Thoughts and Prayers

Our thoughts and prayers are with some family friends of ours.

LCPL Julian Brennan was killed in action on Saturday in Afghanistan.

May he rest in peace and our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.




Well I am still having contractions off and on all weekend but they tend to faid away. The leg and back pain is still going strong. We are trying to be patient awaiting the arrival of Mr. Caden. The pain is not helping though. =) If he doesn't come early then he will be here Feb. 11.

Doctor Appointment

I guess you can say we made another trip...trip #6. The pain moved to my back this morning and it was pretty severe. They sent me to check contractions on monitor and gave me some pain meds through a shot. Then we went to lunch and I came home and crashed for a couple of hours. Still having pain but not as bed thanks to pain pills!

Going to try and go to work until the little man decides to come for REAL!

Praying for GOOD news

I have been having contractions since 3:45 yesterday afternoon every ten minutes. About 8 pm I called the doctor and she said b/c of all my false alarms I should maybe stay home until they get stronger and closer together. My name is in at the hospital just in case.

Well they are still about 10 min apart and in my back too. I haven't slept too well and then got woke up at 4:45 am to ms. haley telling me she wet the bed! We go to the doc this morning so I am praying he has something GREAT to say! I can hope I guess. That is if I make it till 9:30am. I guess I have made it this far so breath through and tough it out!

Trip #5

I really thought this was the last time but of course it wasn't! Woke up at 2am in labor pain and major back pain. Contractions were five minutes apart so at 3am we headed to the hospital. They kept me for five to six hours but there was no dialation change =( So since I am early the doc will not do a c-section until I am 4 or 5 cm dialated. So she gave me pain killers for my back and I came home. The contractions have calmed down but still having them every once in awhile. Jason is praying not to be woken up again tonight to go to the hospital.

Otherwise we all took naps today to get the sleep we all lost this morning. I think Haley slept for almost 4 hours! We watched movies and cleaned Haley's room!

Trip #4 to Hospital!

Well what happened to third times the charm! Not for me...I have now made four trips to the hospital and I am tired of going. I keep having contractions -- A LOT OF THEM! I have only dialated 1/2 cm more so since I didn't really change and wasn't changing too much at the hospital they sent me home again. I am suppose to go back when they are 10 min apart or less for an hour! Maybe in my case 5th times the charm! We will see. It has been nice having two days off of work though. We will see if we make it through the weekend or not!

For the past week I have been still having contractions! They are getting closer together and more often! They are even moving into my back...which is pretty painful. So, we are just waiting. Haley said yesterday she was very excited and can't wait to meet "HER" baby!

Luncheon Baby Shower

My cousin Michelle put together a lunch with some family and friends at El Rodeo.

We had food, cake that Aunt Ashley brought, and presents. We had a good time and lots of laughs.

Hospital trip #3

Well I was having some major contractions at dinner.

I believe I have a rash starting from the other meds they are having me take to stop contractions. They gave me a new kind but they don't work. So off to the hospital we went. The contractions were 5 to 7 minutes apart. I got a shot and they went away. I am suppose to rest as much as possible! So it looks like teaching school this coming week shall be interesting. Good thing I have a rolling chair.

Have a lunch with some family and friends tomorrow afternoon.

DOCTOR DAY!!!

Well I went to the doctor today.

She told me to keep that baby in there at least one more week. I was having contractions regularly this morning and she told me to take the medicine she gave me to stop them. She also went ahead and checked me b/c I am still having contractions...I am 1cm and 25% effaced. So do you think he will stay in till Feb. 11? We will just have to see.

I am definately tired and worn out after being back at work!

Registry Day

We laid around and did nothing all morning. Haley played baby dolls and Barbies. Then Haley and I went to Target and finished her birthday wish list and the baby registry. She loved shooting the gun and scanning the stuff! Now she is putting the alphabet in order with her new touch and feel flashcards she got for xmas. She is doing a pretty good job too! Jason is at the shooting range.

Surprise Baby Shower

Well my favorite girls from MRE gave me a surprise baby shower today. Jen asked me to eat lunch with her and Alexis and Haley and I about a week ago...so we went to the Hacienda. When I got there everyone was there with presents and balloons. I was so surprised! They got the little man some adorable outfits, blanket, and frames for his foot and hand print. Thank you so much for making it a special day!

Afterwards Haley went to spend her Xmas money to get Barbie house stuff. She got some cool stuff and has been playing with it since we got home! She even got a boy barbie...surf Ken!

Two more days and back to school.
